This is the first win and nomination for Frances Hannon. This is third win and fourth nomination for Mark Coulier having previously been nominated for The Fifth Element (1997) & The Iron Lady (2011). His other nomination was for Rush (2013).

A visually striking film from minute one has some beautifully created makeup on top of some other beautiful production elements. The standout look shown above is the creation of character Madame D. who while featured briefly at the beginning of the film is striking when on screen shows the impressive work done by the makeup artists working on the film. Other makeup looks throughout the film include Gustave H., J.G. Jopling and Ludwig.
