AND THE WINNER IS:

LUCIA ANIELLO FOR ("JUST FOR LAUGHS"), HACKS

This is the first win and eight nomination for Lucia Aniello. She was previously nominated for producing Broad City (2014-15) & Hacks (2021-22), directing Hacks (2022) and writing Broad City (2015) & Hacks (2022).

Hacks had always been an entertaining show that HBO Max has always chosen to air at the last moment with each season that has come out and yet with the shows third season even with last airing during May it was one of the strongest series to premiere the whole year. Any episode of the season would've been a worthy winner for comedy directing yet the seasons first episode "Just for Laughs" was the standout. The episode works great as the premiere but also a call back when you look at the season as a whole. Aniello has been such an integral voice of the entire series and her work of every episode she has directed has been incredible.
