OUTSTANDING LEADING ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES

Matt Berry as Leslie "Laszlo" Cravensworth for (“Headhunting”) in “WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS”
Nathan Fielder as himself for (“Pilot’s Code”) in "THE REHEARSAL"
David Alan Grier as Ron for (“A Peanut and Caramel-Filled Miracle”) in "ST. DENIS MEDICAL"
Steve Martin as Charles-Haden Savage for (“Gates of Heaven”) in “ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING”
Kayvan Novak as Nandor the Relentless for (“Sleep Hypnosis”) in “WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS”
Martin Short as Oliver Putnam for (“Adaptation”) in “ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING”

AND THE WINNER IS:

STEVE MARTIN AS CHARLES-HADEN SAVAGE FOR ("GATES OF HEAVEN") IN "ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING"

This is the first win and seventh nomination for Steve Martin. He was previously
nominated individually for 30 Rock (2009) & Only Murders in the Building (2022-24), he was also nominated as part of the ensemble of Only Murders in the Building (2023-24). He wins for his performance as Charles-Haden Savage on Only Murders in the Building

There is always something nice about finally getting to nominated a couple of seasons long performance for the first time for a standout season that person being Steve Martin this year. Having awarded his equally as great co-star Martin Short before it is nice to have Martin win individually for his best seasons work with the shows fourth season.

What I appreciate most about Martin this past year was how his part was effective through great physical comedy but also compelling personal drama as Charles loss of a friend really purpelled his performance making the case feel so personal. Martin not usually an actor we associate with drama performed this many moments beautifully with such a strong heart while also nailing the laugh out loud physical acts of comedy every audience member comfortably associates with the name Steve Martin.

I of course look forward to what Martin will continue to show in future seasons believing his television work to be amongst his career greatest.
