OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A COMEDY SERIES

Edwina Findley as Sheila Cannon for (“The Last of Sheila”) in "THE RESIDENCE"
Janelle James as Ava Coleman for (“District Budget Meeting”) in “ABBOTT ELEMENTARY”
Linda Lavin as Sybil Schneiderman (“Sour Pickleball”) in "MID-CENTURY MODERN"
Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara Howard for (“Music Class”) in “ABBOTT ELEMENTARY”
Molly Shannon as Bev Melon for (“Adaptation”) in "ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING"
Jessica Williams as Gaby Evans for (“I Love Pain”) in "SHRINKING"

AND THE WINNER IS:

JANELLE JAMES AS AVA COLEMAN FOR ("DISTRICT BUDGET MEETING") IN "ABBOTT ELEMENTARY"

This is the sixth win (second consecutive in this category) and seventh nomination for Janelle James. She previously won individually for Abbott Elementary (2022, 2024), also being nominated in 2023. She also won for all three previous seasons as part of the ensemble of Abbott Elementary. She wins for her performance as Ava Coleman on Abbott Elementary.

Having believed Janelle James work in the third season was incredible on Abbott I was of course unprepared for how James was a true comedic sensation even greater in the shows incredible fourth season. James easily did her greatest work throughout the whole year nailing of course Ava's individual comedy but also bringing a humanity like never before to her role as Ava faced many real life challenges throughout.

James was the easy winner for me and again gives for the fourth year in a row this category awarding an Abbott Elementary actress which makes absolute sense given how stellar many of the shows ensemble members have been. I look forward to how the show will further complicate Ava Coleman and the acting possibilities it will provide James. My only real wish is that an institute like the Television Academy can finally award James like her co-star Sheryl who at least has one trophy to her name.
