This is the first wins and nominations for Eli Bush & Evelyn O'Neil. This is the first win and fourth nomination for Scott Rudin. He was previously nominated for Notes on a Scandal (2006), Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009) & The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014).
With this win, Lady Bird tops out at four wins and eight nominations. The film won for picture, director, original screenplay & ensemble. The film was also nominated for leading actress (Ronan) supporting actor (Letts), supporting actress (Metcalf) & film editing.
LADY BIRD just really hit close to home with me. Like many, I came out thinking that I was Lady Bird and this film was the story of my life. It's a film that I believe will be thought of as great years from now and I enjoy living in the moment it enjoyed it's initial appreciation.
