This is the first win and third nomination for Nicholas Hoult. He was previously nominated individually for The Great (2020, 2022). He wins for his performances as Peter III & Yemelyan Pugachev on The Great.
In speaking about Nicholas Hoult I can't talk about his work in Season 3 without giving a big
SPOILER ALERT!!!
Now that I've given that what most impressed me most about Hoult this season that even after his Peter died half way during the season his Peter impersonator was a strong enough performance that kept me invested in the season and his work. I will say this season just based on how his multiple characters have now passed feels like the ending of his work on the season so I am so glad to finally award him for his work. Hoult was as always incredibly funny on the show and this season there were multiple moments where his line deliveries were fire, his physicality was brilliant and his differentiation between the characters so strong.
