OUTSTANDING COSTUME DESIGN

Milena Canonero for The Grand Budapest Hotel

Mark Bridges for Inherent Vice

Patricia Norris for The Immigrant

Kasia Walicka-Maimone for A Most Violent Year

Sharen Davis for Selma

AND THE WINNER IS:

PATRICIA NORRIS FOR THE IMMIGRANT

This is the second consecutive win and nomination for Patricia Norris. She previously won for 12 Years a Slave (2013).

In the end my winning pick was Patricia Norris’ work on The Immigrant which was a great callback to the 1920’s look of the immigrants coming to america. Norris in her great costuming shows both the great suiting of the men of the time and also the depressing look of women who would perform for the men in the small nightclubs of New York City. Norris is legendary in the costume design industry and her work again is quite exciting to see. A standout piece by Patricia Norris is the above photo of Ewa and Bruno with her particular attention for detail being shown in this photo period specific costuming very much present.
