OUTSTANDING LEADING ACTOR IN A MINISERIES OR MOVIE

Darren Criss as Andrew Cunanan in “THE ASSASSINATION OF GIANNI VERSACE: AMERICAN CRIME STORY”
Kyle MacLachlan as Special Agent Dale Cooper/Mr C/Douglas "Dougie" Jones in “TWIN PEAKS”
Jack O’Connell as Roy Goode in “GODLESS”
Al Pacino as Joe Paterno in “PATERNO”
Evan Peters as Kai Anderson/Andy Warhol/Marshall Applewhite/David Koresh/Jim Jones/Jesus/Charles Manson in “AMERICAN HORROR STORY: CULT”
Jesse Plemons as Robert Daly in “BLACK MIRROR: USS CALLISTER”

AND THE WINNER IS:

KYLE MACLACHLAN AS SPECIAL AGENT DALE COOPER/MR C/DOUGLAS “DOUGIE” JONES IN “TWIN PEAKS”

This is the first win and second nomination for Kyle Maclachlan. He was previously nominated with the ensemble of Desperate Housewives (2007).
The best performance on television this entire season was the non-Emmy nominated performance of Kyle MacLachlan on the series return of Twin Peaks. He played not one, not two but more than three characters on the season and everyone was greater than the last. Whether it was the delightful Dougie, the terrifying Mr. C or the loveable Dale Cooper I was massively impressed. MacLachlan as a performer is mixed for me because he can sometimes be terrible, however, this work showed him at his greatest. It still hurts so much that his work will not be honored by the most known award in the television industry. I still marvel at this performance and how Lynch really provided MacLachlan with large challenges.
