OUTSTANDING LEADING ACTRESS IN A MINISERIES OR MOVIE

Hayley Atwell as Margaret Schlegel in “HOWARD'S END”
Laura Dern as Jennifer Fox in “THE TALE”
Sarah Gadon as Grace Marks in “ALIAS GRACE”
Regina King as Latrice Butler in “SEVEN SECONDS”
Elisabeth Moss as Robin Griffin in “TOP OF THE LAKE: CHINA DOLL”
Sarah Paulson as Ally Mayfair-Richards/Susan Atkins in “AMERICAN HORROR STORY: CULT”
AND THE WINNER IS:

SARAH GADON AS GRACE MARKS IN “ALIAS GRACE”

This is the first win and nomination for Sarah Gadon.

Alias Grace unfortunately was overlooked in favour of the other Margaret Atwood adaptation that premiered less than a year before. That series was Handmaid's and has been loved by many, however this adaptation of Alias Grace was an equally great adaptation. Sarah Gadon playing the titular role of Grace was marvelous, I've watched in a couple of films prior to this limited series and while she was good it was nothing in comparison to this series. She was haunting and surprisingly scary in her dark moments throughout this tale. In a year with a weak list of leading actresses in limited series this performance by Gadon stands out in comparison to others which is in no way a negative of her strong work. I hope Gadon continues this line of work showing her real strength as an actress.
