AND THE WINNER IS:

SUCCESSION

This is the first win and third nomination for Succession in this category. For its final season Succession has received twelve nominations winning five of them. The show won for Drama Series, Drama Ensemble, Leading Drama Actress (Snook), Supporting Drama Actor (Macfadyen) & Drama Writing. The show was also nominated for Leading Drama Actor (Culkin), Leading Drama Actor (Strong), Supporting Drama Actor (Ruck), Guest Drama Actress (Abbass), Drama Directing (x2) & Editing.

Choosing the final season of Succession as the great drama series of this past television season is no surprise as I'm sure many will get behind that thought. What made me want to choose the series most of all is that I've never awarded it the win for overall Drama Series for any of the previous three seasons. This final season from the very beginning managed to surprise and shock me an audience member with each new weekly episode. If anything Succession proved that weekly release is still a sustainable way to release television as it keeps the conversation about a show going for a lot longer. I am so grateful to finally award the series a top drama trophy for it's final year airing on television.
