TEYANA TAYLOR (A THOUSAND AND ONE)
Teyana Taylor prior to her outstanding breakthrough film performance in A Thousand and One has been known as a brilliant singer-songwriter and I for one found such pleasure in experiencing this standout performance from the year. Taylor in collaboration with first time director A.V. Rockwell created such a standout acting moment from the year. Taylor has had small roles in films prior but none has challenged her the way the character of Inez did in A Thousand and One.
I've had the pleasure to watch the film multiple times and have been blown away by Taylor on each occasions that she was bound to be my easy breakthrough performer this year. I hope other great directing talents employ Taylor to play as challenging roles because she has shown on this occasion she is more then capable.
