"Power of Two", The Acolyte (Music and Lyrics by Victoria Monét, Michael Abels & Dernst Emile II)
“The Ballad of the Witches Road", Agatha All Along (Music and Lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez)
"Let’s Put The Christ Back In Christmas", The Boys (Music and Lyrics by Christopher Lennertz)
"I Don't Like Windows When They're Closed", Interview with the Vampire (Music and Lyrics by Daniel Hart )
"Before Dorothy", RuPaul's Drag Race (Music by Brett "Leland" McLaughlin; Lyrics by Brett "Leland" McLaughlin, Tom Campbell and Michael Seligman)

AND THE WINNER IS:

"THE BALLAD OF THE WITCHES ROAD", AGATHA ALL ALONG (MUSIC AND LYRICS BY KRISTEN ANDERSON-LOPEZ AND ROBERT LOPEZ)

These are the first wins and fourth combined nominations for Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. They were previously nomination for compositing an original song for Wanda/Vision (2021). They were also nominated for composition the main titles theme music for Wanda/Vision (2021) and Agatha All Along (2025).

Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez continue to impress me with the variety in their songwriting across both television and film with them following up their already successful music contributions to Wanda/Vision with even more impressive work on Agatha All Along. "The Ballad of the Witches Road" is a song so important to the storytelling of Agatha All Along certain lyrics are the titles of episodes of the season and we get many versions of the song throughout that I couldn't imagine awarding any other musical piece for the best original song of the year.

In a day and age where people question whether awards for songwriting in film and television needs to awarded when a tune as impactful as the ballad debuts the award becomes necessary to award such a great moment of art creation. The Lopez's truly are an incredible music writing couple and I'd gladly listen to each of the versions of the ballad over and over again.
