OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A MINISERIES OR MOVIE

Erin Doherty as Briony Ariston in "ADOLESCENCE"
Taraji P. Henson as Vivian 'Sweets' Thomas in "FIGHT NIGHT: THE MILLION DOLLAR HEIST"
Lesley Manville as Nancy Brigstocke in "DISCLAIMER"
Ruth Negga as Barbara Sabich in “PRESUMED INNOCENT”
Maxine Peake as older Dolours in “SAY NOTHING”
Jenny Slate as Nikki in "DYING FOR SEX"

AND THE WINNER IS:

RUTH NEGGA AS BARBARA SABICH IN "PRESUMED INNOCENT"

This is the first win and nomination for Ruth Negga. She wins for her performance as Barbara Sabich on Presumed Innocent.

Ruth Negga has been a true favourite actress of mine since first becoming familiar with her work through her international breakthrough previously on television on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and of course falling in love with her film work in the decade to follow. Negga has previously been awarded by me for her supporting performance in Passing (2021) so it seemed right following that role her first major television appearance would be anticipated by me.

Negga's take on the wife role in this series adapted from the film of the same name is different enough from Bonnie Bedelia's take on the part in the film from 35 years prior that I enjoyed her expanded storylines finding Negga so emotionally moving. I will continue to follow Ruth's performance so closely and was just so thrilled to witness another great work by her.
