This is the second win and third nomination for Paul N.J. Ottosson for his sound design for Zero Dark Thirty.
Once again the production values on this film were some of the best of the year with the strong sound editing being one of the best qualities. The film used sound in only the best ways with simple added in sounds. To mention again the final raid scene was such an achievment in sound editing with sound being used for tension and not taking over the scene as the choreography of the raid mixed with the sound did making it work overall.
