AND THE WINNER IS:

THE LEFTOVERS

This is the first win and second nomination for The Leftovers. The show was previously nominated for series in 2015.

Similar to how Review grew so much in it's second season the same I feel can be said about HBO's drama The Leftovers. Many criticized the first season while I considered it one of the great series on television that season. However it cannot be disputed by anyone that the second season was one of the strongest television seasons in recent memories. The forced choice to move location and focus in on the  special fantasy element of the show allowed for even greater creative risks to be achieved. An episode like "International Assassin" could never have been as good as it was if the creators like the ones on The Leftovers weren't as singular as they are.

The Leftovers received a total of 15 nominations winning three of them. It won for series, supporting actress (Regina King) and writing (International Assassin. It was also nominated for ensemble, lead actor (Justin Theroux), lead Actress (Carrie Coon), supporting actor (Kevin Carroll & Christopher Eccelston), guest actress (Liv Tyler), directing (International Assassin), writing (Lens), casting, film editing, main titles design & music composition.
