OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES

Alan Alda as Uncle Pete for ("Episode 1") in "HORACE AND PETE"
Kevin Carroll as John Murphy for ("Axis Mundi") in "THE LEFTOVERS"
Clayne Crawford as Ted Talbot Jr. for ("Thrill Ride") in "RECTIFY"
Christopher Eccleston as Matt Jamison for ("No Room at the Inn") in "THE LEFTOVERS"
Michael McKean as Chuck McGill for ("Nailed") in "BETTER CALL SAUL"
Miguel Ángel Silvestre as Lito Rodriguez for ("Death Doesn't Let You Say Goodbye") in "SENSE8"

AND THE WINNER IS:

ALAN ALDA AS UNCLE PETE FOR ("EPISODE 1") IN "HORACE AND PETE"

This is the first win and ourth nomination for Alan Alda. He was previously nominated for The West Wing (2005-2006) and 30 Rock (2009).

Alan Alda over his entire career has been one of the greatest television actors over a wide variety of genres but with his work as the awful bad tempered Uncle Pete I felt as an audience member I saw a complete role reversal to anything Alda has ever played. As the irredeemable Uncle Pete Alda exploded for his lived performance on Horace and Pete spitting veomous hate towards every character in only the best way possible. C.K. gave Alda room to stretch into playing such a unlikeable character that I am pleased to say I've never seen Alda an actor mostly known for comedy deliver a powerful dramatic turn as he has in Horace and Pete.
