OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES

Clayne Crawford as Ted Talbot Jr. for ("Go Ask Roger") in "RECTIFY"
Christopher Eccleston as Matt Jamison for ("It's a Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt World") in "THE LEFTOVERS"
Frank Langella as Gabriel for ("The Committee on Human Rights") in "THE AMERICANS"
John Lithgow as Winston Churchill for ("Assassins") in "THE CROWN"
Michael McKean as Chuck McGill for ("Chicanery") in "BETTER CALL SAUL"
Jeffrey Wright as Bernard Lowe for ("Trompe L'Oeil") in "WESTWORLD"

AND THE WINNER IS:

MICHAEL MCKEAN AS CHUCK MCGILL FOR ("CHICANERY") IN "BETTER CALL SAUL"

This is the first win and second consecutive nomination for Michael McKean. He wins for his performance as Chuck McGill on Better Call Saul.

Chuck McGill was the true villain of the first three seasons of Better Call Saul. He was heartless in his goal of destroying his younger brothers life, McKean as an actor is primarily known for comedy but his work as McGill has made me see his talent in a new light as he played the character with no apologies and was stellar for the entire run. While I believe the choice made with his character at the end of the season is probably the right decision I will miss see McKean play this deplorable man. In the episode mentioned we see McKean play Chuck for all his colours especially the dark. I hope that the show does not suffer with the loss of his presence.
