This is the first win and nomination for Jerrod Carmichael.
Jerrod Carmichael: Rothaniel is truly one of the great tv events of this past season and it absolutely stood out based solely on the quality of it first. Sure many discuss it now for Carmichael's personal confession but on top of that there is so much great comedy that makes the special that even greater. Jerrod did such a good job with this special that even against many variety series this special stands out thanks mainly to Jerrod Carmichael's work.
