AND THE WINNER IS:
JUSTINA MACHADO AS PENELOPE RIERA ALVAREZ FOR (“HELLO, PENELOPE”) IN “ONE DAY AT A TIME”
This is the first win and third nomination for Justina Machado. She was previously nominated for individual and ensemble acting with One Day at a Time (2017).
The fact that enough people aren't watching One Day at a Time urkes me so much because this series is just so wonderful. Machado plays the lead ex-army woman and when the show chooses to focus on her struggles it's harrowing. I believe that Machado holds the show together because it almost always rests on her shoulders whether she plays the injured daughter of strong mother to her children. It's wonderful work and makes me appreciate Machado as an actress like I never have before.
