AND THE WINNER:

PRODUCTION DESIGN BY RICK HEINRICHS; SET DECORATION BY ELI GRIFF FOR GLASS ONION: A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY

These are the first wins for Rick Heinrichs & Elli Griff. Heinrichs was previously nominated for his production design for Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017).

Just for the titular Glass Onion alone it was an easy decision to choose the Knives Out sequel as this years best production design. Everything about the set in which the majority of the film takes place is extravagant and absolutely gorgeous. Whether it's the main glass office, the multiple rooms in which the guests of Miles Bron stay or even the extra locations such as the poolside part of the island it is a lot to take in and so well designed. You do sort of have to live in a fantasy land when it comes to the films production design and honestly the sets where so well designed that it was very easy for me to get over that.

The first film had a well designed house as we all know and with this just as greatly designed sequel I look forward to how far Johnson and his team of designers are gonna go when they revisit this universe which I'm pretty sure they will.
