This is the first win and nomination for Matthew Libatique.
Libatique in collaboration with Aronofsky have crafted a stunningly beautiful film. With so much going on between the always running plot of the film and the constantly moving camera this job was not going to be easy for any DP. Thankfully Libatique is one of the best in the business and the tricky tightrope he had to walk is expertly achieved. Every scene is well captured and images from this film are sure to stay with me for years to come.
