"Shine", Waiting for 'Superman' (Music and Lyrics John Legend)

AND THE WINNER:

"YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST OF ME", BURLESQUE (MUSIC AND LYRICS BY DIANE WARREN)

This is the first win and fifth nomination for Diane Warren. She was previously nominated for writing "Because You Loved Me" from Up Close and Personal (1996), "How Do I Live" from Con-Air (1997), "I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” from Armageddon (1998) & “There You’ll Be” from Pearl Harbor (2001).

Diane Warren has been one of the best in the biz when it comes to song writing whether it's just regular pop songs or her songs for film which have made her name widely none. This year with her song for Burlesque she has yet again written another great anthem. The song comes at the perfect point in the film and is performed so beautifully by Cher. I am sure to listen to this song for years to come and that is all down to Warren who has made such an infectious ballad melody and lyrics which really cut down to the soul of Cher's film character. Bravo to Warren and while this is not going to be awards moment I hope she can continue to write greatness as she always has been.
