AND THE WINNER IS:

WALTON GOGGINS AS BOYD CROWDER FOR (“THE HUNT”) IN “JUSTIFIED”

This is the second win and fourteenth nomination for Walton Goggins for his performance as Boyd Crowder in the episode “The Hunt” on Justified Season 6. He previously won for The Shield (2007). He was previously nominated for The Shield (2002-2006, 2009), Justified (2010, 2013), Sons of Anarchy (2013) and with the ensembles of The Shield (2002, 2004) and Justified (2011).

Walton Goggins already gave an iconic performance as Shane Vendrell for seasons on The Shield and with Justified he yet again another compelling performance as Boyd Crowdor for six seasons on the FX drama. Many know the character was not meant to stick around but probably the best decision made by the writers was to keep him around because for seasons he was a great foil for our central character and especially in this final season he became the final person for Raylan to bring down. Goggins really was better then he’s ever been in the role in this final season where we see this man be betrayed by the love of his life and also finally be defeated by his childhood rival. In the episode “The Hunt” we see Boyd and Ava go up to a cabin in the mountain. These scenes in the episode are some of the best the series has to offer and seeing boyd be both menancing and loving at the same time is joyous to watch and because of Goggins great grasp of this character we really believe he is tortured by her betrayel as well as wanting to still love her. Goggins really has been wonderful and he wins this award for this season and 5 previous years as Boyd Crowdor.
