AND THE WINNER IS:

ARMANDO IANNUCCI, DAVID QUANTICK & TONY ROCHE FOR ("DEBATE"), VEEP

Last Year’s Winner: Mike White for (“The Ghost is Seen”), Enlightened

This is the first win for Armando Iannucci, David Quantick & Tony Roche on each of their first nominations for their writing of the episode Debate in season 3 of Veep.

Veep as a show has always been funny for me but in the third season I felt the show came more alive and that was because I felt the show had a much stronger focus and throughline and in this episode in particular I felt the show was at it’s best in terms of production but especially the writing. In the episode we see fun of the funniest sequences take place in a presidential debate and each of the characters provides histarical moments as does the people in the green room and overall this episode worked on so many levels and the writing by these three men I felt was very effective in showing the strength of the writing staff of this great show.
