OUTSTANDING DIRECTING FOR A COMEDY SERIES:

Bill Hader for (“ronny/lily”), Barry
Harry Bradbeer for (“Episode 4”), Fleabag
Mark A. Burley & John Cameron Mitchell for (“Mother of All Matches”), G.L.O.W.
Todd Biermann for (“Mac Finds His Pride”), It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Chris Kelly for (“Chase Drops His First Album”), The Other Two

AND THE WINNER IS:

BILL HADER FOR ("RONNY/LILY'), BARRY

This is the second win and fourth nomination for Bill Hader. He previously won for Documentary Now (2016) and was nominated for Saturday Night Live (2013) & Barry (2018).

This episode that Bill Hader wins the directing prize for is unarguably one of the great episodes of television from this past season. It's a wild episode and honestly under the confident direction of Hader feels completely perfect in pace and delivery. While I'm not a die-hard fan of the show I do have to appreciate it's great moments especially in this second season where so much was done and done well.
