OUTSTANDING DIRECTING FOR A COMEDY SERIES:

Phil Lord and Chris Miller for (“Pilot”), Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Andrew Haigh for (“Looking for the Future”), Looking

Louis C.K. for (“Model”), Louie

Jodie Foster for (“Lesbian Request Denied”), Orange is the New Black

Mike Judge for (“Optimal Tip-to-Tip Effciency”), Silicon Valley

AND THE WINNER IS:

ANDREW HAIGH FOR ("LOOKING FOR THE FUTURE"), LOOKING

Last Year’s Winner: Lena Dunham for (“Together”), Girls

This is the first win for Andrew Haigh on his first nomination for his work on Looking.

Andrew Haigh really broke out with the film Weekend and this standout episode of Looking he directed unsurprisingly is quite similar to the film from a couple of years ago. The episode centers around a bloosoming romance between two men and the direction simply surrounds these characters and shows alot of great emotion being shared by these characters. The direction envelopes these characters almost feeling invisible and this makes the great direction all the more creative.
