OUTSTANDING DIRECTING FOR A MINISERIES OR MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION

Greg Mottola for Clear History

Adam Berstein for (“The Crocodile’s Dilemma”), Fargo

Colin Bucksey for (“Burdian’s Ass”), Fargo

Richard Eyre for (“Henry IV Part 1 & 2”), The Hollow Crown

Ryan Murphy for The Normal Heart

AND THE WINNER IS:

COLIN BUCKSEY FOR ("BURDIAN'S ASS"), FARGO

Last Year’s Winner: Steven Soderbergh for Behind the Candelabra

This is the first win for Colin Bucksey on his first nomination for his work on Fargo.

Similar to how well Noah Hawley created the written universe of Fargo the five directors chosen to direct the 10 episodes of Fargo eqaully envisioned the great universe where the show was set. In particular the episode “Burdian’s Ass” directed by Colin Bucksey was quite an impressive feat of direction. The episode includes scenes out in the wild snow storm where there is some impressive action direction where each moment builds so well to the ending which was such a dramatic and unexpected ending.
