OUTSTANDING CHOREOGRAPHY (DANCE/STUNT)

Mark Ballis for (“Atlas”), Dancing With the Stars

Philip J Silvera for (“Hallway Fight”), Daredevil

Dave Scott for (“Good Kisser”), So You Think You Can Dance

Travis Wall for (“Like Real People Do”), So You Think You Can Dance

Sonya Tayeh for (“Vow”), So You Think You Can Dance

AND THE WINNER IS:

MARK BALLIS FOR (“ATLAS”), DANCING WITH THE STARS

This is the first win and nomination for Mark Ballis for his chroeographed piece “Atlas” on Dancing With the Stars Season 20.

Mark Ballis has been one of the best partners/chroegraphers on Dancing With the Stars for years and in this the twenty season Ballis with his partner Willow Shields did his some of his most consistently best work for the series taking into advantage the young age of his partner and crafting new and exciting pieces all different from the last. Atlas was the standout piece by him for me because it was a great contemporary piece using the troupe and whole production design of the show in only the best ways possible. Ballis really showed his true talents for choreography this season and Atlas showed that even in his sixteenth season he still does great work that should not be ignored.
