AND THE WINNER IS:

JAMES NORTON AS TOMMY LEE ROYCE IN “HAPPY VALLEY”

This is the first win and nomination for James Norton for his performance as Tommy Lee Royce on Happy Valley.

You always know when a villian is done great and that’s when you feel conflicted to where you hate the villian but also love to hate the villian because they’re so dispicable. James Norton’s performance as Tommy Lee Royce was the case of confliction because this man was awfully terrifying and while he continued to horrify are main character of Catherine and her family we couldn’t help but love to hate the devilishness of this character. Norton plays it quietly and when he lets lose you feel it because the character is written that way and also Norton’s performance is so strong that when he comes to his end you feel grateful because this evil is finally gone.
