This is the first win and nomination for Anthony Mendez for his voiceover narration of Jane the Virgin Season 1 episode “Chapter Twenty-Two”.

Being a parody version of a telenovela with still respect for the genre Jane the Virgin was one of the most surprising shows of the year and one of the highlights week to week was the narration done by Mendez. The different between the narration device on this show and one like Desperate Housewives was the fun filled nature of not only the dialogue read by Mendez but the way in which this voiceover interacted with the events of the show. The finale especially used a lot of this where the narrator was left shocked by the baby being taken away and warmed by everything else in the finale and season overall. Mendez did such a great job at doing this voiceover it made for an exciting and very funny thing to hear week to week.
