AND THE WINNER IS:
MAX RICHTER FOR (“TWO BOATS AND A HELICOPTER”), THE LEFTOVERS
This is the first win and nomination for Max Richter for his composing work for The Leftovers Season 1 episode “Two Boats and a Helicopter”.
Having never given a music composing award before each of these composers and are being nominated for the first time and never rewarding this aspect of television music feels like a major oversight by myself. Richter’s work on The Leftovers all season long was spectacular and was just as fluid as the story was and really drove uo my emotional connection to the show. In this episode especially as we follow the character Matt Jaminson’s life going good and bad and good again and so on and on. The music beautifully captures the dramatic events happening to this charcter and everything Richter did with this show’s music was amazing.
