Last Week Tonight with John Oliver came just at the right time for me start of summer 2014 and ever since it’s one of my favourite current shows on television. In a year where we’ve lost Colbert and Letterman and soon to loose Stewart no other host is as special and brillant as John Oliver is. His show is so good that opposed to most paraodies of news I actually learn valuable news information from the show week to week and it really becomes more enjoyable for me. “Government Surveillance” was the standout episode for me with the interview that took place between Oliver and Edward Snowden. The interview was fun but even outside that the rest of the episode was and really showed how strong the writing is from all these writers involved in this great show that should be everyone’s top priority each Sunday night it airs.
