OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A MINISERIES OR MOVIE

Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Emily D. West in “TEXAS RISING”

Lubna Azabal as Atika Halibi in “THE HONORABLE WOMAN”

Claire Foy as Anne Boleyn in “WOLF HALL”

Zoe Kazan as Denise Thibodeau in “OLIVE KITTERIDGE”

Abigail Lawrie as Krystal Weedon in “THE CASUAL VACANCY”

Winona Ryder as Melanie Fall in “WORRICKER: TURKS AND CAICOS”

AND THE WINNER IS:

CLAIRE FOY AS ANNE BOLEYN IN “WOLF HALL”

This is the first win and nomination for Claire Foy for her performance as Anne Boylen in Wolf Hall.

When it comes the Tudor’s and everything surrounding the british royals it has been told over and over again through many forms of media. Wolf Hall the miniseries was based on the Hilary Mantel novels and because they focus so much of Henry VIII we of course were in store for a fiery performance from any actress cast to play Anne Boylen. Claire Foy succeeded in bringing the passion, attitude and fear to this character which is why Claire Foy being the least known of the three leads really came from behind the two understated leading performances and made such a strong impression on me. Her performance was finely tuned and just what I expected and wanted from Wolf Hall’s version of Anne Boylen.
