This is the first win and nomination for Radha Blank
The 40-Year-Old Version is such a stunning feature in how it comes up and blows you away in only the best ways cinema can. Blank is so assured of what she is trying to accomplish with her first feature and I couldn't help but award her at least one prize here for her excellency this past year. When it comes to the writing of the film it's not a script that is aiming to up end your expectations on how a story is told and is instead a story of a teacher who goes for her dreams so well told.
All I can hope by spotlighting is everyone goes and catches up with this film. It's fully avaliable on Netflix the biggest streaming service so at this point you have no excuse having not watched it. Blank has made her name known and I only hope great things for whatever she decides to do next.
