OUTSTANDING ORIGINAL SCORE

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

The Chemical Brothers for Hanna

Howard Shore for Hugo

Harry Escott for Shame

Alberto Iglesias for Tinker Tailor Solider Spy

AND THE WINNER IS…..

THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS FOR HANNA

Last Year’s Winner: Clint Mansell for Black Swan

The award for original score of a film is very important because it can either highten a films quality or plummet it to the ground. The winner of my original score this year is a previous six time nominee and he is winning his first award for his seventh nomination. The score in second place is the score for “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo“, the score was snubbed by the oscars but I thought that it really was just so addictive to listen to because it used it’s unique style to mix with the theme of the film.

But in the end the winner of my score award is the electronic new score by The Chemical Brothers for the film “Hanna”. The score broke out of the story being role in the film which is modern fairytale and the score added to the modern style of the film. As the film goes on this great score builds and builds which is why is was my first favourite score of the year and ended the year only as the best above the rest for being the most memorable that I could listen to over and over again which I kept doing all year long.
