OUTSTANDING BREAKTHROUGH/DEBUT

Jessica Chastain (The Help)

Tom Hiddelston (Thor)

Adepero Oduye (Pariah)

Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene)

Ezra Miller (We Need to Talk about Kevin)

AND THE WINNER IS…..

JESSICA CHASTAIN (The Help)

Last Year’s Winner: Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone)

My first special award is for an actor who either made their feature film debut or really broke out into the mainstream with one film. This year’s winner if ever a way to make a lasting impression have six of your films released in the same year which is exactly what Best Supporting Actress 2011 winner Jessica Chastain did. Not only was she great in her winning performance for the help but in films like The Tree of Life and Take Shelter she would have been perfectly fine for any nomination.

The two performances probably not talked about enough is the ones in The Killing Fields and The Debt even though they are not on the same level of quality as the other films but she really stands out proving that we will be seeing a lot more of her talent as she is the most in demand actress working, not only did she do six films in 2011 but this year in 2012 she has 5 films planned for release just goes to show that she will be doing even more great work over the next decade showing that don’t mess with the ginger girls.
