AND THE WINNER IS…..

PHILIP STOCKTON & EUGENE GEARTY FOR HUGO

Last Year’s Winner: Richard King for Inception

After sound on a film has been mixed it would then be time to edit the sound so that when the film is screened that no scene sounds out of place. The winners of the award this year won the oscar this year for sound editing. But first I will tell you all of the runner up which is “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo“. The sound added to the building tension throughout the movie from the silence to motor bike scenes to the ending of the film which just included simple sounds that made the film an even better experience to watch throughout.

In the end like Mixing I picked the Scorsese film “Hugo“, the team behind Hugo were so great that I f I had given another film one sound award and not award Hugo with two it would have been stupid. The editing of sounds in this film made it stand out because you would not think that a film that took place in a train station would involve so many different events and the team of Hugo had to make it more.
