AND THE WINNER IS…..

KIRK BAXTER AND ANGUS WALL FOR THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO

Last Year’s Winner: Andrew Weisblum for Black Swan

The next element of filmMaking would be making sure that from the maybe many hours of footage that there is a great team of artists that can shorten all the footage into a time frame that suits the story and is good enough to be seen by the world. The winners of this award this year won the oscar (surprise), they also were nominated with me for two times before but have won the first film editing award from me this year. The runner up in this category is the legendary Thelma Schoonmaker for her impressive work on “Hugo“, she had to make the film feel relatable to every one what ever age or gender.

In the end I choose the double team of Kirk Baxter and Angus Wall for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo because this film with all the plates and explosives they of course with the director being Fincher would have sop much footage to get rid of, but the thing that pushed them over the edge was that unlike any other film the film may have been long but because of them it did not seem like it was that long.

P.S. Later the award for visual effects will be handed out.
