OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN DRAMA SERIES

Rose Byrne as Gloria Steinem in “MRS. AMERICA”
Hong Chau as Lady Trieu  in “WATCHMEN”
Sarah Paulson as Alice Macray in “MRS. AMERICA”
Winona Ryder as Everlyn Finkel in “THE PLOT AGAINST AMERICA”
Jean Smart as Laurie Blake in “WATCHMEN”
Tracey Ullman as Betty Friedan in “MRS. AMERICA”

AND THE WINNER IS:

ROSE BYRNE AS GLORIA STEINEM IN "MRS. AMERICA"

This is the second win and fifth nomination for Rose Byrne. She previously won for Damages (2009) and was also nominated for the show in (2008, 2010, 2012).

Playing a person as iconic as Gloria Steinem would be a hard challenge for any actor and when watching the entire series I'm pretty confident that Byrne rose to the challenge and exceeded expectations. What I loved most about Byrne's work throughout the series was how captivating she was to watch on screen in a more subtle way. It wasn't a performance filled with histrionics and instead one built on natural charisma which Byrne has in large amounts. The show filmed her in so many modes and she knocked it out of the park in every way. Byrne is a favourite performer of mine and it was so great to watch her kill it again on TV.
