OUTSTANDING WRITING FOR A DRAMA SERIES

Thomas Schnauz for (“Wexler v. Goodman”), Better Call Saul
Davita Scarlett for (“The Gang Gets a Call from HR”), The Good Fight
Elena Ferrante, Francesco Piccolo, Laura Paolucci & Saverio Costanzo for (“The Betrayal”), My Brilliant Friend
Janet Mock & Our Lady J for (“Life’s a Beach”), Pose
Will Tracy for (“Tern Haven”), Succession

AND THE WINNER IS:

WILL TRACY FOR ("TERN HAVEN"), SUCCESSION

This is the third win and fourth nomination for Will Tracy. He was previously nominated for writing for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (2017). He won writing for that show in 2015 & 2016.

I didn't watch Succession when it initially aired and caught it all at the end of the last TV season just before the second season premiered and honestly why I held off watching it I do not know. The show was great in it's first year but during the second season the show went far and beyond to an even higher level of greatness. At the midpoint of the second season the "Tern Haven" episode which the show has won writing for shows the show at it's best where it's characters talking. The dialogue on this show is basically perfect in how it mixes both comedy and drama in a way that appeals to me. I could've chosen any episode to highlight to great writing on Succession but in thinking about it this mid episode was the show at it's best.
