OUTSTANDING FEMALE ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE

Rose Byrne as Rayna Boyanov in “SPY”

Julianne Moore as Havana Segrand in “MAPS TO THE STARS”

Sarah Paulson as Abby Gerhard in “CAROL”

Jada Pickett Smith as Rome in “MAGIC MIKE XXL”

Kristen Stewart as Valentine in “CLOUDS OF SILS MARIA”

AND THE WINNER IS:

ROSE BYRNE AS RAYNA BOYANOV IN “SPY”

This is the first win and individual nomination for Rose Byrne for her performance as Rayna Boyanov in Spy. She was previously nominated with the cast of Bridesmaids (2011).

“Dying is Easy, Comedy is Hard” this quote is so true and now watching Rose Byrne yet again shine in comedy it shows her immense talent as she does wonders with this role. From the still and silent way she delivers long pieces of dialogue to the hair acting she does from scene to scene. Spy was easily the best comedy of the year and Byrne was able to stand head and shoulders above a cast full of talented comedy workers, Byrne is just doing something so fascinating that when it came to every supporting female performance from 2015 I couldn’t help but reward Byrne for her singular gift of comedy showed at the highest standard in 2015’s Spy.
