AND THE WINNER IS:
DAREDEVIL ("NEW YORK'S FINEST")
This is the first win and second nomination for the sound department for Netflix's Daredevil. The team was previously nominated for their work on season 1 and now win for season 2.
With the introduction of The Punisher until his harrowing end the entire arc was full of some gut punching sound design. Every time out anti-hero lead Murdoch was punched by this antagonist you felt it each time. The design makes the punches have impact as they hit and really built the stakes for this great rivalry in the first part of the season and even into the post Electra portion of the season. The stairway fight in this episode was especially impressive sound design as with each level more villains where introduced for Daredevil to fight out of. Truly some brilliant sound to make the feel of the show even greater.
