GABY HOFFMAN AS ALEXANDRA "ALI" PFEFFERMAN FOR ("BULNERABLE") IN "TRANSPARENT"

This is the first win and fourth nomination for Gaby Hoffman. She was previously nominated for her individual performances on Girls (2014) and Transparent (2015). She also was nominated alongside the ensemble of Transparent (2015).

Gaby Hoffman since her sort of resurrance in the world of acting as an adult has been a wonder to behold. She really ruled playing very outladish characters for a while but with her work as Ali Pfefferman there is the chance she goes off the wall but due to the writing staff and Hoffman's stellar work she holds back a lot of her performance. This holding back works wonders for building the character of Ali and also showing the greatness that Hoffman possesses. Hoffman was wonderful in season one but grew even more into the role in season 2 due to the focus of the show changing towards Hoffman through her relationship with Cherry Jones Leslie. Hoffman like her fellow nominees from Transparent impressed me so much this season and while some have forgotten Transparent due to it's quiet nature when you have someone like Hoffman giving this performance the show must be watched frequently.
