This is the fifth win and sixth nomination for the visual effects team of Game of Thrones. The show has been nominated each season it has aired winning every year other then last year.
What can be said about the visual effects of Game of Thrones that hasn't been said. One thing I will point out about the effects of this episode is how well they handled Dany riding the dragons which in previous episodes hasn't been handled well as I would've wanted them to. Unlike the penultimate episode of last season Dany riding on the dragon is believable and pure fantasy in the way I like it. Really expert work by these effects artists clearly given the appropriate amount of budget.
