This is the fourth win and fifth nomination for Amy Schumer. She previously won for her producing, directing and acting on Inside Amy Schumer (2015). She was also nominated for writing the show as well.
Sure the buzz around Amy isn't as massive as it had been a year ago but really was that ever possible. Many people seem to have warmed down on Amy Schumer but I myself still love just about everything she does. As is the case with her HBO special. The jokes were free following and this all came from Amy's mind. When it comes to great comedy in a special I look for great jokes which is something this special had an abundance of. Really great work by Amy yet again a comedian I continue to love in just about every medium possible.
