OUTSTANDING SOUND EDITING

Sylvain Bellemare for Arrival
Suk-won Kim for The Handmaiden
Tim Chau, Thomas O'Neil Younkman & Clayton Weber for Kubo and the Two Strings
Joshua Adeniji, Christopher Bonis & Frederick Howard for Moonlight
Russell Gorsky & Brent Kiser for Swiss Army Man

AND THE WINNER IS:

SUK-WON KIM FOR THE HANDMAIDEN

This is the first win and nomination for Suk-won Kim, he wins for his sound work of The Handmaiden.

What can I say about The Handmaiden what hasn't be said before. I just love everything about the production of this film and while my knowledge in sound editing vs. sound mixing is limited I do believe that the editing of this film is spectacular. The sound scale of this film adds to the intensity and sexual experince of our main trio in this mysterious revenge thriller. Truly great work that doesn't make a big deal about it.
