This is the first win and nomination for Onnalee Blank, Chris David & Chris Giles. They won for their collaboration on Moonlight.
Moonlight is my clear favourite for overall sound design this entire year and the fact the sound is talked about more is beyond me. The Britel score, the Jenkins words and just the overall natural sound of San Francisco all together in creates for such a special type of film creation. This team has done an expert job that I need to bring attention like it hasn't been brought to in 2016 yet.
