ANDREW GARFIELD (THE EYES OF TAMMY FAYE, SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME, TICK, TICK... BOOM!)
Garfield is one of those performers who my reaction towards him changes pretty regularly depending on the most recent project I've seen from him. 2021 sort've was the perfect time to be a fan of his because the elements that have made him work as a performer really hit well with each of his films released featuring him at his best.
The first of his films I saw was tick, tick... boom! which has obviously resulted in his second career Oscar nomination. He is so electric in the film and it has become high amongst his career best. He proved his skill for musical performance which was something we'd not been welcome to seeing before from him. Next was Eyes of Tammy Faye which had him play the real life husband of the titular character. He delivered well alongside Chastain in the film and while it's my least favourite of his films I still had a good time with him. Final to his trio of 2021 films was his return to the role of Peter Parker. I hadn't been a fan of his previous films playing the character but he was really fun this time around and it made for a great close to the year for him.
So all together his 2021 standouts high in the actors career and I hope he only continues to rise and grow to be one of the best of his generation.
