PAUL LAMBERT, TRISTAN MYLES, BRIAN CONNOR & GERD NETZER FOR DUNE
This is the first win and nomination for Brian Connor. Paul Lambert and Gerd Netzer previously won for Blade Runner 2049 (2017). Lambert and Tristan Myles were nominated together for First Man (2018).
If Dune (part one) is to win any prize this year visual effects has to be that one citation. Money was spent on this show and while you may not enjoy certain parts of the film the visual effects have to be something unquestionably great. So many great visual splendors to behold throughout whether it's the giant sand worm that pops up or it's the gigantic cities that the characters move through.
