These are the first wins and nomination for Akritchalerm Kalayanamitr, Raúl Locatelli & Javier Umpierrez.
What I believe is most standout about the sound design of Memoria is how purposely silent it can be for chunks of the screen time. With a lot of the film being silent and having you pay attention to the scenes when sound is featured it was so well crafted that I was over the moon by the sound artists who created it for this film. Memoria based on it's release schedule is likely to be an underseen film but I hope when those who've not seen it get their hands on it they realise how impressive he sound scape was for the film.
